Hello everyone. Recently, I was thinking about sequels. Notably, when they are film sequels. I don’t tend to watch many sequels anymore as they never seem to be as good as the first film. There are a few films that I can think of that were better than the first film. Maybe three or four films that come to mind. The one that stands out is The Godfather Part II. That’s my favourite film sequel. Not only is it my favourite film sequel, it’s also my favourite film of all time. I absolutely love that film, simply because of the director, Francis Ford Coppola was brave enough to make it in a completely different way from the first film. I didn’t want to write another The Fall of the House of James or Always A Slave. I wanted to write the third novel in The James Saga in a different way. So the beginning of A Slave’s Vow is a lot gentler and has a slower pace than the other two novels. It’s kind of a slow burner and it is still the most difficult book I’ve ever written because I kept wondering whether I’m doing the right thing by going against how the first novel was written. However, when the book was published, the ratings were very good and it’s still one of the most popular novels in the entire series. With this in mind, what is your favourite novel in The James Saga and why? Please let me know by email. Unfortunately, I have not made much progress with A Sweet Taste For Revenge.
