MAY NEWSLETTER 2024 - STRANGE WAYS OF THE BRAIN

Hello everyone.

I hope you are enjoying your day. The weather continues to be miserable here in London. Lots of rain and much colder than it should be. I am hoping for an improvement soon.

Recently, I’ve been thinking about strange things that human beings do. I was in the kitchen and threw all of the milk from the bottle away when I actually wanted to save the milk so that someone else could make a pudding with it. It’s funny what the brain does. Sometimes, you think about one thing and then the brain is telling you something completely the opposite. So, I was just wondering when was the last time you did something that you shouldn’t have? Did you go and buy some cereal at the convenience store and end up buying cheese instead? Or have you used some form of public transport, started to do something, like reading a text and missed your stop? Let me know by email.

Welcome to the new subscribers to the newsletter. I hope you enjoy the content that you receive. If you have any queries, reach out to me at anne.austin5886@gmail.com.

The responses to the printable survey have been quite low. If you could take the time, I would really appreciate it if you could fill it out and send back the form or let me know the results via email. It would help me going forward in terms of the business.

This is the last week of the printable sale! The prices will be going back up from the 3rd of June! So if you want to grab these printable poems at the discounted price, this is the final week for you to do so. You can get one, which is the Love Poem titled ‘The Beauty of Love,’ or two, the Love Poems, titled ‘Wishful Thinking’ and ‘Love Leaves Me.’ They are about the beauty and complexities of falling in love. I am trying to finish writing the remaining chapters of the novel. It is almost 400 pages and I still have several chapters to write. It is likely that the first draft will be around 550-600 pages, which is far too long for one book. So, it is very likely that I will have to split it into two – which means there will be two books instead of one! I have not finished the first draft, so I cannot be sure that this will happen. I will know more by the next newsletter.

This is a surprising article in the Romance Studio about Diversity in the publishing world in North America. This is based on a survey that was conducted last year. While there is some encouraging news, it seems the progress is still painfully slow and more needs to be done. Here’s the link -

Hello everyone. I hope you are having a good day. I am still celebrating the fact that my team, the Kansas City Chiefs, reached the Superbowl – again. As usual, it was a rollercoaster, a nail-biting game but the Chiefs prevailed and they’re heading for New Orleans. I’ve really got into American Football in the last three years and it's growing in popularity in Britain. I would love to attend an NFL game one day. I’ve reached the final stages of editing ‘A Sweet Taste For Revenge.’ This has...

Hello everyone. I hope you are well and are having a good day. The weather in the UK has been awful. In some parts of the country, it has been snowing. It is so cold in London right now. Earlier this morning, it was just above freezing. I so want it to be warmer, but I’ll probably have to wait until March for that to happen. So I’m staying indoors with a cup of hot coffee and wearing my huge hoodie to keep me warm. How would you like to get as many resources as you want to help you improve...

Hello everyone. I hope you are well and are enjoying your day. The Olympics is now over. I’m very sad. I love my sports so it’s taken a while to get over it. Now I will have to get on with the rest of my life. It was incredible to watch so many amazing athletes and Olympians doing what they love to do. People are lucky when they find something that they love to do such as writing. So I consider myself very lucky to do a job which I love to do as many people aren’t that fortunate to be able to...
